Now that sprinf is upon us, I wonder if there will be concerts in this bandshell on the covered portion of the Canal St Martin

At Bastille, there was a small manif of a collective of "sans papiers" (literally "without papers" it means "undocumented immigrants").
They were sining a song. I couldn't understand the words at all, even a tiny bit, but I suspect it was in French. I did make out the phrase "sans papiers"

«11e collectif des sans papiers»
"11th (addondissement) collective of undocumented workers"
There were protesters at Bastille who hung up a couple of banners and sang songs.

A small collective of undocumented workers protests by Bastille.
To point out some cultural differences between France and the US, there were no visible cops around. At all. If the cops had shown up in force and had arrested people for being undocumented, there would be a huge public outcry because everyone has the RIGHT to protest and the general public would be outraged if undocumented workers were arrested while exercising their human rights.
Some of them seemed unhappy that I had taken this picture, but as nobody is identifiable in this photo, I'm going to post it.

We rode out to the woods: the Bois de Vincennes.
Well, they call it the woods. Maybe for historical reasons.

There was a lovely lake in the Bois de Vincennes called Lac Daumesnil. We rented a rowboat and went out on it.

There was also a giant carnival in the "woods." (Bois de Vincennes)
Visually and sonically, American and French carnivals are indistinguishable from a distance.

There was a guy inside this bus stop by Bastille on a hunger strike. It was 44 days. His health was going bad. He was protesting about the conditions of the homeless. I have no idea what's going on with him now, but he is probably not still on hunger strike.
