Sheep from our campsite near Breda.
We did minicamping, aka farmer camping, which meant camping on a patch of lawn near a farmer's house. Some farmers make extra summer income by opening their lawn to campers. I'm quite fond of this sort of camping.

A relic in Breda.
Usually, a relic is a piece of a dead saint. Specifically, this is known as a "first class relic." Second class relics are things the saint touched while living. I think this is purported to be a piece of the one true cross.
I think despite it's not actually having been a piece of a saint, it's importance would make it a first class relic regardless, but I'm just guessing.

A close up of the relic. It has a little legend which I can almost read, but not quite. Maybe it's not a part of the one true cross? I wonder if the wikipedia article on Breda lists relics in the cathedral.

An angelic organ grinder.
The New Grove article on organs says that portative organs have none of the spiritual associations of large, installed church organs, but this scultpure suggests otherwise, at least in limitted circumstances
(Things that I wish I could have cited in an academic paper I wrote in 2003)

The Cloister garden in Breda
It looks like just a gazing ball, but, infact, it has religious purposes. Satan can sometimes be found in gardens during the summer months (I guess it's too cold for him in the other seasons?) and might sneak up on cloistered women. Fortunately, a reflective ball can alert them to Satan's wiley presence.
Some guy in town told me this, so it must be true.
