I only have a week left here in sunny California, and then I must return to the austere Northeast, which apparently is having a record-breaking cold snap. I would like it very much if all of my friends could give me a photograph of themselves looking at the camera and smiling. My plan is to thumbtack these to my wall, much as has been done with college dorm rooms since the photograph was invented.<\/p>\n
