If you see a term in a future post that you don&#8217;t <a href=\"http:\/\/catb.org\/~esr\/jargon\/html\/G\/grok.html\">grok<\/a>, leave a comment or send me an email, and I&#8217;ll add it to this post.  These are the definitions that I think these words have. If you think I have it wrong, leave a comment. Unless you&#8217;re defending radfems, then don&#8217;t leave a comment.<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/www.celesteh.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/lolsynth.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px;\" data-src=\"http:\/\/www.celesteh.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/lolsynth.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"me holding an evenfall minimodular\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/a> <b>Evenfall Minimodular<\/b> &#8211; a nifty small synthesizer made by a guy named Evenfall.  <\/li>\n<li><b>FTM<\/b> &#8211; &#8220;female to male&#8221; transgender \/ transsexual.  One who is read as female at birth but goes on to identify as male.<\/li>\n<li><b>genderqueer<\/b> &#8211; a gender identity that rejects the binary opposition of male\/female.<\/li>\n<li><b>HID<\/b> &#8211; &#8220;human interface device&#8221;. A joystick, gamepad, mouse, etc.<\/li>\n<li><b>hir<\/b> &#8211; a gender neutral pronoun used like his or her.<\/li>\n<li><b>MTF<\/b> &#8211; &#8220;male to female&#8221; transgender \/ transsexual. One who is read as male at birth, but goes on to identify as female.<\/li>\n<li><b>OSC<\/b> &#8220;open sound control&#8221;. A system that does everything MIDI does and more.  (see <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/OpenSound_Control\">wikipedia article<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li><b>Pass<\/b>, <b>Passing<\/b> &#8211; &#8220;Passing, in regards to gender identity, refers to the ability of an individual to be successfully accepted by others as belonging to a gender opposite to that of their [sex assigned at birth]&#8221; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Passing_%28gender%29\">wikipedia<\/a><\/li>\n<li><b>POC<\/b> &#8211; &#8220;person of color&#8221;.  Somebody who is not white or somebody who is multiracial.\n<li>\n<li><b>radfem<\/b> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Radical_feminist\">Radical feminist<\/a>, a member of a branch of feminism characterized by transphobia and gender essentialism.<\/li>\n<li><b>SuperCollider<\/b> &#8211; A program that does sound stuff.  <a href=\"http:\/\/supercollider.sourceforge.net\/\">http:\/\/supercollider.sourceforge.net\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li><b>T<\/b> &#8211; short for &#8220;testosterone&#8221;, specifically the pharmaceutical kind which can be used by ftms.<\/li>\n<li><b>trans<\/b> &#8211; transgender or transsexual or genderqueer<\/li>\n<li><b>twitter<\/b> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\">http:\/\/twitter.com<\/a><\/li>\n<p> . Very short blog-like posts.
