  1. the anti-gmail arguments are sort of…silly and uninformed (the thing about the ads, esp. do they not understand how keyword searches work? it’s not going to be 100% relevant all the time. duh.). i mean, i find the ad thing creepy as fuck myself but it’s not like microsoft, yahoo, or hell, even my work don’t have the power and resources to do the same thing.

    i don’t really see an argument there about how gmail is actually worse than hotmail. they do a lot of things automagically, which is sort of creepy but it’s automagic. i find microsoft updating my applications without me asking it to to be significantly more creepy but maybe that’s just me.

    i can’t figure out what exactly anti-google folks have a problem with. google keeps it’s technologies private. ok. so their search algorythm is their secret sauce, and what? i’d like to hear a good argument against them. i’d like to see the evil.
