not just like now, but with better gadgets

They say
“The future is now”
A Wallmart boot
in the face of a Target stampede
trampled back friday shopper
Forever.
It used to be
the beach was lurking
under the cobble stones;
Waiting to be uncovered
and realised.
And maybe
thing aren’t perfect now,
but it’s fair to say
it could have been much worse
The future is
not for sale and
not fixed.
We make it and find it
still waiting
beneath the cobble stones.
